Collinsville Road accident causes injuries, suit claims

A woman has filed suit against the driver who she claims crossed into her lane, causing a collision.

Leslie M. Montgomery claims she was driving her 2007 Dodge east on Collinsville Road near its intersection with Rene Avenue in Collinsville on Sept. 29 when defendant Ramon Tostada-Jimenez, who was driving a 1999 Chevrolet west on the same road, crossed the center line an struck Montgomery's vehicle.

Because of the collision, Montgomery suffered serious and permanent injuries to her neck, back, legs and knee; became seriously and permanently disabled; and suffered a significant wage loss,
according to the complaint filed June 30 in Madison County Circuit Court.

Tostada-Jimenez negligently failed to yield the right-of-way, failed to drive within a single lane, failed to keep a proper lookout, drove west in a lane reserved for eastbound traffic and drove at a high and dangerous rate of speed, the suit states.

Montgomery is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.
Bruce E. Mattea of Collinsville will be representing her.

Madison County Circuit Court case number: 10-L-696.
