An elevator company has filed suit against a Chicago business alleging it failed to pay more than $60,000 for services provided.
Schindler Elevator Corporation claims it entered into a contract with KHB Group doing business as Midwest Mechanical Group in which Schindler agreed to modernize four traction elevators at Scott Air Force Base and two hydraulic elevators by providing the base with labor and materials.
Although Schindler has performed all agreed-upon services, KHB has failed to pay it $48,333.40 for work on the traction elevators and $16,856.30 for work on the hydraulic elevators, according to the complaint filed June 4 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.
In addition to the money it says it is owed, Schindler is seeking pre- and post-judgment interest, costs, attorneys' fees and other relief the court deems just.
Schindler will be represented by Jeremy P. Brummond of Lewis, Rice and Fingersh in St. Louis.
