The man who allegedly injured attorney Robert Sprague and his wife, St. Clair County Auditor Patty Sprague, has still not answered a lawsuit filed against him in October 2009.
According to the lawsuit, Adriano Silva allegedly ran a stop sign at South A Street near West Main Street, hitting a car operated by Robert Sprague.
Patty Sprague was in the passenger's seat and allegedly suffered shoulder and elbow injuries.
Robert Sprague claims that he suffered back and neck injuries.
The suit seeks damages in excess of $50,000 and costs per count of the suit.
The most recent action in the case was an order signed by St. Clair County Circuit Judge Robert LeChien moving a June 2 status conference to September.
Robert Sprague is a familiar face in St. Clair County courtrooms.
He filed two class action suits in 2009 and sits at the defense table in a class action filed against Redbox Inc., the owner of DVD rental kiosks found at locations including supermarkets.
Robert Sprague also is the head of the St. Clair County Democratic Central Committee.
Robert Sprague represents himself and his wife in the suit.
The case is St. Clair case number 09-L-561.
