Woman claims injuries in Alton accident

A woman claims she suffered injuries to her neck, head and back after a driver collided with her vehicle.

Christine B. Owings filed a complaint June 4 in Madison County Circuit Court against Mary A. Perry.

Owings claims she drove west on East Broadway Street in Alton on Oct. 30, 2009, at about 6:16 a.m. when Perry, who drove in the same direction, struck her vehicle.

In addition to her injuries, Owings experienced pain, suffering and disability; incurred medical costs; and lost wages because of the collision, according to the complaint.

Perry negligently failed to reduce her speed to avoid a collision, drove too fast, followed Owings too closely and failed to keep a proper lookout, the suit states.

In her complaint, Owings seeks an unspecified judgment, plus costs.

Lance R. Mallon and Dawna M. Hale of Mallon and Hale in Wood River will be representing her.

Madison County Circuit Court case number: 10-L-591.
