An East St. Louis man has filed suit against the driver who he claims failed to yield the right-of-way to him at an intersection.
Charles Davis claims he was driving east on Illinois Route 159 near its intersection with Collinsville Avenue in Collinsville on April 2, 2009, when defendant Audrey M. Brockmeyer, who was driving north on Collinsville Road, collided with him.
Because of the collision, Davis suffered great pain and anguish, incurred hospital bills and lost wages, according to the complaint filed May 28 in Madison County District Court.
Brockmeyer negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to keep her vehicle under proper control, failed to brake to avoid a collision, failed to stop or swerve to avoid a collision and failed to see Davis' vehicle, the suit states.
In his complaint, Davis is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs and other relief the court deems just.
Ronald J. Foster Jr. of Schoen, Walton, Telken and Foster in East St. Louis will be representing him.
Madison County Circuit Court case number: 10-L-570.
