The Third Judicial Circuit has honored Bond County State's Attorney Chris Bauer and Ted Parker, the director of Group Interventions, as Partners in Peace.
The award is the highest honor bestowed by the circuit's Family Violence Prevention Council, according to the press release sent out by Madison County Chief Judge Ann Callis' office Tuesday.
Madison County Circuit Judges Barbara Crowder and Richard Tognarelli presented the awards at the council's annual meeting last month.
Bauer, of Greenville, was first elected as Bond County State's Attorney ten years ago.
He is the chair of the Bond County Domestic Violence Committee. Under his direction, the committee has led many initiatives including a Walk Against Violence and improved technology used by Bond County law enforcement.
Parker, of St. Jacob, is a member of the Family Violence Prevention Council and has been active in its pursuits for many years.
Parker has worked with domestic violence groups in Illinois and California.
He directs Group Interventions, a batterer's intervention agency, aimed at decreasing domestic violence and improving the safety of women and children.
