A total of 17 new asbestos lawsuits were filed in Madison County Circuit Court throughout the week of March 29 through April 2.
The following complaints were filed:
--Orlene Dicks of Florida claims her recently deceased husband, Emory Lee Dicks, developed mesothelioma after his work as a boatswains mate and truck driver at various locations from 1942 until 1964 and from 1966 until 1978. Orlene Dicks will be represented by Robert Phillips and Perry J. Browder of Simmons, Browder, Gianaris, Angelides and Barnerd in East Alton. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 10-L-367.
--Mildred Dubois of Pennsylvania, an assembly worker, laborer, waitress and secretary at various locations throughout the U.S. from 1959 until 2009, claims mesothelioma. Dubois was also exposed to asbestos fibers through her husband, who worked from 1974 until 2009 as a self-employed general contractor, according to the lawsuit. Dubois will be represented by Brian J. --Robert Franke of Texas, a pipe fitter from 1968 until 1969 and an electrician from 1970 until 1979, claims mesothelioma. Franke will be represented by Robert Phillips and Perry J. Browder of SimmonsCooper in East Alton. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 10-L-373.
--Billy R. and Edwina C. Hadley of Arizona claim Billy R. Hadley developed mesothelioma after his work as a pipefitter from 1964 until 1994. The Hadleys will be represented by Ross D. Stomel of Shrader and Associates in Houston. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 10-L-354.
--James Hall of Tennessee claims his recently deceased wife, Ina Hall, developed mesothelioma after her work as a secretary and taster throughout the United States. --William Harris of Illinois, a machine operator and janitor at various locations from 1970 until 1989, claims mesothelioma. Harris will be represented by W. Brent Copple of Simmons, Browder, Gianaris, Angelides and Barnerd in East Alton. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 10-L-351.
--Suit has been filed on behalf of Donald Lettenberger who developed mesothelioma after his work as an insulator from 1955 until 1959 and as a salesman at various job sites from 1960 until his retirement. Andrew O'Brien, Christopher Thoron, Christina J. Nielson, Bartholomew J. Baumstark and Gerald J. FitzGerald of O'Brien Law Firm in St. Louis represent the plaintiff. --Teresa Montesano of California claims her recently deceased husband, Ronney Montesano, developed mesothelioma after his work as a member of the U.S. Navy, as a mill work performer and as a worker at Gray's Harbor for 10 years, as an insulator, as a home remodeler in the 1960s and as an automotive repair worker in the 1960s and the 1970s. --Marie Odom of Georgia claims her recently deceased husband, Bobby Odom, developed lung cancer after his work as an electrician from 1964 until 1979. --Lawrence Pool III of Minnesota claims his recently deceased father, Lawrence Pool II, developed mesothelioma after his work as a bricklayer and metallurgist at various locations throughout Illinois and Indiana from 1938 until 1979. --Carol Scott of Missouri claims her recently deceased husband, Robert Scott, developed mesothelioma after his work as a sales clerk at J.B. Russell Lumber Co. from 1972 until 1973, as a factory worker at Lyons Die Casting from 1973 until 1974, performing various jobs at Armco Steel in 1974, as an employee at McDonald's from 1974 until 1976, as a mechanic operator/laborer/torch man/crane operator from 1976 until 1982, as a small engine mechanic at Feldman Brothers from 1982 until 1984, as a general manager at Feldman Brothers from 1984 until 1988, as a project manager at Pre-Fabricated Steel/Kan Build from 1998 until 2000, as a store manager at Orscheln Farm and Home from 2000 until 2005, as a department manager at Lowe's Home Improvement from 2005 until 2007 and as a truck driver for the Department of Transportation from 2007 through 2009. Robert Scott was also exposed to asbestos fibers through a side business he and his father owned, according to the complaint. Carol Scott will be represented by Randy L. --Bonnie Voseberg of Iowa claims her recently deceased husband, Richard Voseberg, developed lung cancer after his work as a dryer operator at various locations from 1964 until 1979. --William and Kimberly Webb of Washington claim William Webb developed mesothelioma after his work as an inspector, laborer, tech support engineer/electronics technician and radio and electronics installer at various locations throughout Illinois, Iowa, Texas, Arizona, Missouri and Washington from 1974 until 2009. William Webb was also exposed to asbestos fibers through his father, who worked as a boilermaker from the 1950s until 1964, according to the complaint. Timothy F.
