A woman has filed suit against the two drivers who she says rear-ended her in separate collisions.
Linda L. McNabb claims she was driving a Ford Focus south on Highway 157 near its intersection with South Access Road in Madison County on July 8, 2008, at about 5:57 p.m. when defendant Victoria C. Bruns, who was driving a Honda Civic south on Highway 157 near the same intersection, struck the rear of McNabb's vehicle.
McNabb was involved in another collision on Oct. 7, 2008, when she was driving her Ford Focus south on Interstate 255 near mile post 19. At the same time, defendant Rickie A. Dame, who was driving a truck owned by co-defendant Electrico in the same direction, struck the back of her vehicle, according to the complaint filed April 19 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.
Because of the collisions, McNabb was thrown violently within the confines of her vehicle; became sick, sore, lame and disordered; received injuries to her neck, back and internal and external organs; suffered great pain and anguish; and incurred medical costs, the suit states.
She blames Bruns and Dame for causing both accidents, saying they negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to keep their vehicles under proper control, drove too fast, followed McNabb's vehicle too closely and failed to stop or swerve to avoid a collision.
In her three-count suit, McNabb is seeking a judgment of more than $150,000, plus costs.
Paul M. Storment Jr. of Belleville will be representing her.
