The Boxing Gym sued over lease agreement

A Glen Carbon realty company has filed suit against a Glen Carbon gym, alleging it has failed to pay rent since February.

THF Glen Carbon Development claims it rented premises at Cottonwood Plaza to TBG Glenn Carbon doing business as The Boxing Gym. Under the lease, The Boxing Gym agreed to rent the premises until June 30, 2014, according to the complaint filed April 9 in Madison County Circuit Court.

However, The Boxing Gym has failed to pay rent since Feb. 10 and owes $7,919.38 to THF, the suit states.

Although THF has demanded payment from The Boxing Gym, it has failed and refused to pay the money owed, the complaint says.

In addition to the past months of unpaid rent, THF claims The Boxing Gym owes it $221,364 for the remainder of the terms of the lease.

In its two-count complaint, THF Glen Carbon Development seeks rents, fees, charges, attorneys' fees, interest and other relief the court deems just.

David W. Forth of James, Hutchinson, Forth and Snyder in St. Louis will be representing it.

Madison County Circuit Court case number: 10-L-413.
