A woman and her husband have filed suit against the driver who they say struck the woman's vehicle, causing her to become sick, sore, lame, disordered and disabled.

Karen and James Dall claim Karen Dall was driving south on Illinois Route 4 in Mascoutah on April 8, 2008, at about 7 a.m. when defendant Ryan Rogers, who was driving a Ford pick-up truck owned by co-defendant Tri-Star northeast on the Interstate 64 exit ramp, collided with her.

Because of the collision, Karen Dall received injuries to her knees and chest, incurred medical costs, suffered disability and lost her normal life, experienced pain and suffering and lost wages, according to the complaint filed March 31 in St. Clair County Circuit Court. In addition, James Dall claims he lost his wife's services, affection, society, companionship and consortium.

Rogers negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, drove too fast, failed to keep his vehicle under proper control, failed to stop or swerve to avoid a collision and failed to reduce his speed to avoid an accident, the suit states.

In their four-count complaint, the Dalls are seeking a judgment of more than $200,000, plus costs.

David C. Nelson and Nathan C. Lanter of Nelson and Nelson in Belleville will be representing them.

St. Clair County Circuit Court case number: 10-L-153.
