A man claims he sustained injuries to various parts of his body after a driver rear-ended him.
James Hood filed a lawsuit March 31 in Madison County Circuit Court against Aubry Duncan.
Hood claims he attempted to make a left-hand turn into Family Video's parking lot from his westerly direction on St. Louis Street in Edwardsville on March 11 when Duncan, who drove a truck west on the same street, struck the rear of Hood's van.
In addition to his injuries, Hood suffered pain and permanent disability and incurred medical costs because of the collision, according to his complaint.
Hood blames Duncan for causing the collision, saying he drove too fast, failed to keep a proper lookout ahead and failed to stop, slow down or swerve to avoid a collision, the suit states.
Hood seeks a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.
