A Millstadt woman has filed suit against the driver who she claims rear-ended her vehicle as she waited in a McDonald's drive-thru.
Shelly Eccher claims she was stopped in the Route 13 Belleville McDonald's drive-thru on Oct. 1, 2008, when defendant Ronnie Rawlings struck the back of her vehicle.
Because of the incident, Eccher sustained severe and permanently disabling injuries to her spinal cord, great pain and mental anguish, according to the complaint filed March 18 in St. Clair County Circuit Court. In addition, she lost wages and incurred medical costs, the suit states.
Rawlings negligently failed to stop when it was necessary to do so, drove too fast, failed to keep a proper lookout and failed to keep his vehicle under proper control, the complaint says.
Eccher is seeking a judgment in excess of $50,000, plus costs.
She will be represented by Bruce R. Cook.
