Normal routines hindered, woman claims in car accident suit

A Swansea woman claims an accident hindered her from attending to her normal routines.

Cynthia Wuebbels filed a lawsuit March 10 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Brandon Strake.

Wuebbels claims she drove a 2001 Lincoln LS west on U.S. 50 about half-a-mile away from its intersection with South Madison in Lebanon on May 21, 2008, when Strake, who drove a 2001 Chevrolet S-10 pick-up truck in the same direction, rear-ended her.

Because of the collision, Wuebbels lost wages because of her inability to work, suffered a great deal of pain and anguish and incurred medical costs, according to the complaint.

She blames Strake for failing to warn of his impending approach with his horn, for driving too fast, for failing to keep his vehicle under proper control, for failing to keep a proper lookout for other vehicles, for failing to apply his brakes and for failing to stop when danger was imminent.

Wuebbels seeks a judgment in excess of $50,000, plus costs.

Clay B. St. Clair of Crowder and Scroggins in Columbia will be representing her.

St. Clair County Circuit Court case number: 10-L-109.
