14 new asbestos cases filed Feb. 15-19 in Madison County

A total of 14 new asbestos lawsuits were filed in Madison County Circuit Court throughout the week of Feb. 15 through Feb. 19.

The following complaints were filed:

--Edward C. and Carol Bagley of Wisconsin allege Edward C. Bagley developed mesothelioma after his work as a mechanic at Bob Weimer/Prim Farms from 1960 until 1963, as a laborer at Chapman Foundry from 1963 until 1967, as a laborer at Badger Ordinance Works from 1967 until 1969, as a laborer at Speed Queen Factory in 1968, as a truck driver and mechanic at Brake Bush Bros. from 1970 until 1973, as a farmer in Wisconsin from 1973 until 1976, as a drywaller, carpenter and roofer from 1976 until 2009 and as a shade tree mechanic from 1960 until 1980. The Bagleys will be represented by Randy L. Gori of Gori, Julian and Associates in Edwardsville. W. Mark Lanier, Patrick N. Haines, W. Casey Harris and M. --John J. Carpenter of Illinois, a worker at Walworth's Foundry from 1942 until 1945, a member of the U.S. Navy from 1946 until 1948 and a self-employed farmer from 1952 until 2005, claims lung cancer. Carpenter will be represented by Elizabeth V. Heller and Robert Rowland of Goldenberg, Heller, Antognoli and Rowland in Edwardsville. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 10-L-176.

--Robert Hamilton of Florida, a lab technician, field wireman and engineer at various locations from 1949 until 2007, claims mesothelioma. Hamilton will be represented by Brian J. Cooke of Simmons, Browder, Gianaris, Angelides and Barnerd in East Alton. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 10-L-177.

--Joseph E. Harlan of Texas alleges his recently deceased father, William T. Harlan Sr., developed lung cancer after his work as a member of the U.S. Air Force from 1943 until 1946, as a paper bundler for Southern Advanced Bag and Paper Company in 1938, as a material handler for W. Horace Williams in 1939 and as a ship carpenter for Pennsylvania Shipyard from 1941 until 1942. Joseph Harlan will be represented by Elizabeth V. Heller and Robert Rowland of Goldenberg, Heller, Antognoli and Rowland in Edwardsville. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 10-L-175.

--Donald Lamb of Rhode Island, a construction worker and laborer at various locations from 1946 until 1992, claims mesothelioma. Lamb will be represented by Myles L. Epperson of Simmons, Browder, Gianaris, Angelides and Barnerd in East Alton. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 10-L-192.

--James O. and Marcia K. Patton of Illinois claim James A. Patton developed lung cancer after his work in the U.S. Navy from 1952 until 1954, as a fireman and electrician striker and as an automotive mechanic at Penney's Auto Center from 1966 until 1975. The Pattons will be represented by T. Barton French Jr. and Nate Mudd of French and Mudd in St. Louis. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 10-L-189.

--James A. Robinette of Missouri, a carpenter and residential and industrial worker from 1952 until 1978, claims mesothelioma. Robinette will be represented by Andrew O'Brien, Christopher Thoron, Christina J. Nielson, Bartholomew J. Baumstark and Gerald J. FitzGerald of the O'Brien Law Firm in St. Louis. --Darla Salazar claims her recently deceased husband, Carmelo Salazar-Garcia, developed mesothelioma after his work as a construction laborer at KD Construction in 1973, as a maintenance worker at Ft. Clark Springs Association in 1974, as a painter for various construction companies in 1974, as a door manufacturer at Coco Corporation from 1974 until 1975, as a construction laborer for Friendship Builders in 1976, as a cutter and welder from 1974 until 1990, as a steel worker at Modern Drop Forge from 1994 until 2000 and as a shadetree mechanic from 1972 until 2008. --Rebecca Sparks of Pennsylvania alleges her recently deceased father, Raymond Sparks, developed mesothelioma after his work as a laborer and maintenance man at various locations from 1977 until 2002. --Robert Sparks of California, a pipe burner trainee, truck driver and furnace installer at various locations throughout California from 1943 until 1977, claims mesothelioma. Sparks will be represented by Christopher R. Guinn and Christopher J. Levy of Simmons, Browder, Gianaris, Angelides and Barnerd in East Alton. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 10-L-171.

--Ural and Beverly Williams of Ohio allege Ural Williams developed mesothelioma after his work as a mechanic, welder and machinist at various locations from 1948 until 1991. --Loraine Zamber of Wisconsin alleges her recently deceased husband, Gerald Zamber, developed mesothelioma after his work as an aviation technician, fire control officer, economist and pipeline worker at various locations from 1951 until 1988. Loraine Zamber will be represented by Randy S. Cohn and Sean M. Keane of Simmons, Browder, Gianaris, Angelides and Barnerd in East Alton. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 10-L-179.

--Edwin and Gloria Zavadil of Missouri allege Edwin Zavadill developed mesothelioma after his work as a seaman in the U.S. Navy from 1944 until 1946, as a fireman for the St. Louis Fire Department from 1947 until 1988, as a maintenance worker for various apartment complexes from 1976 until 1980, as a drywaller and home remodeler from 1958 until 1978 and as a shadetree mechanic from 1950 until 1978. --Thomas and Alice Zimmer of Wisconsin allege Thomas Zimmer developed mesothelioma after his work as a delivery man at a grocery store and service man at Leisgang's/Ken's Standard Service Station from 1951 until 1953, as a punch press and power shear operator at Trane Company from 1953 until 1962, as a machinist mate from 1955 until 1957, as a tool and die maker at Wilson-Hurd Manufacuring from 1962 until 1964, as a tool and die maker at Zell Machine Industries from 1964 until 1966, as a researcher and developer at Fleckenstein from 1966 until 1970 and as a worker at Outboard Marine Corporation from 1970 until his retirement.
