Belleville accident causes injuries, suit claims

A woman has filed suit against the driver who she says rear-ended her.

Tammy Bleckler claims she was driving a 2000 Mercury Mystique, which she had stopped at a stop light in Belleville on April 3, when defendant Kacie Moore, who was driving a 2007 Pontiac Torrent behind Bleckler, crashed into her.

Because of the collision, Bleckler suffered disability and disfigurement, experienced pain and suffering, lost income and incurred medical costs, according to the complaint filed Feb. 18 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.

Moore negligently drove in excess of the speed limit, failed to keep a lookout for other vehicles, failed to reduce her speed to avoid a collision, failed to keep her vehicle under control, drove without adequate brakes and failed to use ordinary care to avoid a collision.

Bleckler is seeking actual damages of more than $50,000, plus costs.

Kevin Boyne of Belleville will be representing her.

St. Clair County Circuit Court case number: 10-L-77.
