A woman claims her head, neck and shoulders became greatly bruised, crushed and displaced after a driver hit her while backing out of his driveway.
Kathy P. Pisetta filed a lawsuit Feb. 17 in Madison County Circuit Court against David Thompson.
Pisetta claims she drove west on Bissell Avenue in Collinsville when Thompson, who backed out of his driveway, struck the right rear panel of her vehicle on March 9, 2008.
Because of the accident, Pisetta became hindered and prevented from attending to her usual duties, incurred medical costs and lost large sums of money that would have accrued to her, according to the complaint.
She blames Thompson for causing the accident, saying he failed to reduce his speed to avoid a collision, failed to keep his vehicle under control, failed to keep a proper lookout and failed to yield to oncoming traffic before exiting his driveway.
Pisetta seeks a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.
Bob L. Perica of The Perica Law Firm in Wood River will be representing her.
