A St. Clair County woman claims she sustained severe injuries after a driver crashed into her car.
Brandi L. Rives filed a lawsuit Jan. 6 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Donna M. Goehner.
In her complaint, Rives claims she drove a 2006 Toyota in the outside turning lane of Green Mount Crossing Drive with the intention to turn left onto Green Mount Road in Shiloh on June 10. Suddenly, defendant Goehner, who drove a 2001 Chrysler Voyager in the inside turning lane on the same road, struck her, according to the complaint.
Because of the accident, Rives sustained permanent injuries, suffered great pain and anguish, incurred medical costs and lost wages, the suit states.
Rives blames Goehner for failing to stay in her lane when making a left turn, for failing to keep a proper look out for traffic, for failing to reduce her speed to avoid a collision, for failing to keep her vehicle under proper control and for driving too fast.
Rives seeks a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.
Steven C. Giacoletto of Giacoletto Law Office in Collinsville will be representing her.
