Broom named to Committee on Character and Fitness

Broom

Attorney Gordon Broom was appointed by the Illinois Supreme Court to the Committee on Character and Fitness, for the Fifth District of the Illinois Supreme Court.

Broom replaces East Alton attorney Roy Dripps III who served two terms.

Broom is a named partner in the law firm of HeplerBroom which has offices in Edwardsville, Springfield, Chicago and St. Louis.

He is a 1969 graduate of the University of Illinois College of Law.

The purpose of the committee is to determine whether each law student registrant or applicant for admission to the Bar possesses good moral character and general fitness for admission to the practice of law. Among those qualification are the ability to conduct oneself with a high degree of honesty, integrity and trustworthiness in all professional relationships.

Broom's term is for three years.
