23 new asbestos cases filed in Madison County Dec. 7-11

A total of 23 new asbestos lawsuits were filed in Madison County Circuit Court throughout the week of Dec. 7 through Dec. 11.

The following complaints were filed:

--Perry M. and Rose Marie Allard of Oregon claim Perry M. Allard developed mesothelioma after his work as a machine gunner in the U.S. Guard from 1938 until 1939, as a laborer at Remington Rand in Portland in 1939, as a patternmaker in the U.S. Navy from 1940 until 1946, as a patternmaker in the U.S. Naval Reserve from 1946 until 1952, as a patternmaker for Consolidated Vultee Aircraft in 1952, as a carpenter and maintenance worker for Western Foundry from 1952 until 1953, as a patternmaker for Northwest Marine Iron Works from 1953 until 1960, as a patternmaker for Dependable Pattern Works from 1960 until 1961 and as a patternmaker for Northwest Pattern Works from 1962 until 1987. --Douglas and Margie Berger of Texas claim Douglas Berger developed mesothelioma after his work at Shell Oil Company from 1948 until 1986 and at Brown and Root from 1962 until 1963. --Emily Cradic of Tennessee claims her recently deceased husband, Carl W. Cradic, developed mesothelioma after his work as a laborer, heavy equipment operator, pipe layer and home remodeler at various locations from 1958 until 1979. Emily Cradic will be represented by Robert Phillips, Perry J. Browder and Rosalind M. Robertson of Simmons, Browder, Gianaris, Angelides and Barnerd in East Alton. --Sandra DeMott of Michigan claims her recently deceased mother, Rose Simmons, developed mesothelioma after her work as a home construction worker from the 1950s until the 1970s and as a coremaker and relief person from 1946 until 1971. DeMott will be represented by Randy L. Gori of Gori, Julian and Associates in Alton. W. Mark Lanier, Patrick N. Haines, R. Craig Bullock and J. --Willie Eberle of Missouri claims his recently deceased wife, Meldon Eberle, developed asbestosis after her work as a laborer, miner and painter at various locations from 1942 until 1977. --Arlene Hardin of Ohio claims her recently deceased husband, Alby Ray Hardin, developed lung cancer after his work as a boiler tender, laborer and home remodeler at various locations from 1944 until 1979. --Jeffrey Holderfield of Alabama claims his recently deceased wife, Bobbie Holderfield, developed lung cancer after her work as a laborer and home remodeler at various locations from 1974 until 1979. Jeffrey Holderfield will be represented by Robert Phillips, Perry J. Browder and Rosalind M. Robertson of Simmons, Browder, Gianaris, Angelides and Barnerd in East Alton. --Claude J. and Donith Kling of Louisiana claim Claude J. Kling developed mesothelioma after his work as a member of the U.S. Army from 1953 until 1955, as a plumber's helper from 1956 until 1957, as a pipefitter helper at Dow Chemical, as an operator for Ormet Corporation from 1958 until 1991 and as a member of the Steel Workers and Pipefitter's Local from 1953 until his retirement in 1991. --Martha Kuhlman of Alaska claims the recently deceased Franklin Swindle developed lung cancer after his work as a labor operator at Reynolds Metals Company from 1963 until 1991 and as a member of the U.S. Navy from 1958 until 1962. --Denise Maxwell of Florida claims her recently deceased husband, Stephen Maxwell, developed mesothleioma after his work as a laborer, mechanic and supervisor at various locations throughout the United States including Illinois from 1966 until 2008. Denise Maxwell will be represented by Brian J. Cooke of Simmons, Browder, Gianaris, Angelides and Barnerd in East Alton. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-1325.

--Robert Taylor and Laura Lynne McDonald of Georgia claim Robert McDonald developed lung cancer after his work as a laborer for LaGrange Ready Mix in 1985, as a machine operator for Milliken and Co. in 1986, as a laborer for Freeman Construction from 1986 until 1987, as a laborer for Brown Steel from 1987 until 1989, as a laborer for Owens Pressure Washing from 1989 until 1992 and as a laborer and supervisor for Utility Service Co. from 1992 until 2004. --Donald Noe of Illinois, a worker at Pharmacia Corporation formerly known as Monsanto Company from 1961 until 1994, claims lung cancer. Noe will be represented by Michael R. Bilbrey, Timothy P. --Richard Pierce of Wisconsin claims his recently deceased uncle, Allen Pierce, developed lung cancer after his work as a boatswain's mate, carpenter, laborer, mechanic and home remodeler at various locations from 1951 until 1979. --Ernie Spencer of Kentucky, a laborer and science teacher at various locations throughout the United States including Illinois from 1946 until 1992, claims mesothelioma. --Jonathan and Cammi Tolbert of Alabama claim Jonathan Tolbert developed lung cancer after his work as a labor operator for Stockholm Valves and Fitting from 1964 until 1965, as a self-employed construction worker from 1966 until 1971, as a construction worker for Prichard Construction from 1972 until 1973, as a welder at Pullman Standard from 1974 until 1980, as a construction worker at Jones Construction from 1983 until 1984 and as a labor operator at U.S. Steel Corporation from 1986 until 1987.
