A man has filed suit against the allegedly intoxicated motorcycle driver who he says was responsible for causing an accident.
Dennis Morelan claims he and defendant Victor Bulva were driving their motorcycles on Route 3 at its intersection with St. Thomas Road at about 4:51 p.m. on Jan. 6 when Morelan dropped his motorcycle and slid across the road.
Because of the accident, Morelan sustained a broken right wrist, a broken right ankle, a broken tail bone and a crushed pelvic bone and experienced pain and suffering, the suit states. In addition, he suffered disability, incurred medical costs and lost wages, according to the complaint.
Bulva negligently failed to reduce his speed to avoid a collision, drove too fast, failed to keep a proper lookout, ran over Morelan and drove while under the influence of alcohol, the complaint says.
Morelan is seeking an unspecified judgment, plus costs.
Lance R. Mallon and Dawna M. Hale of Mallon and Hale in Wood River will be representing him.
