Hearing in Buske foreign judgment set Dec. 16

A hearing is set in a foreign judgment from Wisconsin that has been entered against one of the parties in a complicated Madison County divorce.

Madison County Associate Judge Nelson Metz ordered the Dec. 16 hearing in the matter of S.C. Johnson and Son, Inc. vs. Thomas Buske, his wife, Sara, and the various companies with which he is involved.

The hearing is to address issues of discovering assets.

S.C. Johnson was awarded $203.8 million in a Wisconsin civil court over Thomas Buske's alleged fraudulent invoices that cost the company millions of dollars.

Sara Buske, Thomas Buske's wife, filed for divorce eight days after the judgment was entered last year.

Until recently, the company and the Buskes had been tangling in the couple's Madison County divorce hearings because S.C. Johnson claims that the Buske divorce is sham used to hide monies owed to it.

The hearing is set to begin at 1 p.m.

On Dec. 1, Madison County Associate Judge Thomas Chapman held a late hearing announcing that all the parties in the divorce including S.C. Johnson had agreed to a settlement of those issues. The Buskes will still need to work out child custody and support issues.

Thomas Buske is currently facing federal charges in Wisconsin for the alleged fraud. He has pleaded not guilty.

The foreign judgment case number is 08-L-674.
