13 new asbestos suits filed in Madison County Nov. 23-27

A total of 13 new asbestos lawsuits were filed in Madison County Circuit Court during the week of Nov. 23 through Nov. 27.

The following complaints were filed:

--Scott Carruthers of Idaho claims his recently deceased father, Robert Carruthers, developed mesothelioma after his work as a pipefitter at various locations throughout Illinois and Idaho from 1963 until 2001. Carruthers will be represented by Amy E. Garrett and Sean M. Keane of Simmons, Browder, Gianaris, Angelides and Barnerd in East Alton. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-1271.

--David B. and Sherley Caudill of Arkansas claim David B. Caudill developed mesothelioma after his work as a mechanic at Caudill's Garage from 1955 until 1959, as a laborer at Arizona Citrus Growers from 1957 until 1959, as a laborer for Arizona Auto Parts Supply from 1960 until 1962, as a mechanic and construction laborer from 1962 until 1965, as a mechanic for the Arizona Highway Department in Arizona from 1960 until 1977, as an electrician from 1977 until now for Russellville Electronics, as a home remodeler from 1963 until 1977 and as a shadetree mechanic from 1955 until 1985. The Caudills will be represented by Randy L. Gori of Gori, Julian and Associates in Edwardsville. W. Mark Lanier, Patrick N. Haines, W. Casey Harris and M. --Rebecca Croucher of New York claims the recently deceased Arleen Besser developed mesothelioma after her work as a secretary for more than a decade and as a home improver from 1972 until 1976. Croucher will be represented by Richard L. Saville Jr., Ethan A. Flint, Andrew J. Balcer and Jessica L. Benton of Saville and Flint in Alton. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-1282.

--Lester and Mary Davis of Florida claim Lester Davis developed mesothelioma after his work in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1943 until 1945, as a delivery man at Dellwood Dairy from 1946 until 1971 and as a plant operator at Houston Independent School District from 1972 until 1990. The Davis will be represented by Randy L. Gori and Barry Julian of Gori, Julian and Associates in Edwardsville. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-1279.

--Debra Granger of Indiana claims her recently deceased father, Eugene Marietta, developed mesothelioma after his work as a home constructor from the 1960s until the 1970s, as a shadetree mechanic from the 1940s until the 1970s, as a worker wrapping pipes with insulation from 1951 until 1953, as the owner of a drive thru movie business in 1970, as the owner and operator of a floral shop from 1971 until 1977, as realtor from 1978 until 1982 and as the owner and operator of weight loss centers from 1983 until 1988. Randy L. Gori of Gori, Julian and Associates in Edwardsville will be representing her. W. Mark Lanier, Patrick N. Haines, R. Craig Bullock and J. --Willard and Emma K. Johnson of Illinois claim Willard Johnson developed lung cancer after his work as a machine repairman for Barber-Colman Company in 1943, as a member of the U.S. Navy from 1945 until 1948 and as a machine repairman from 149 until 1990. The Johnsons will be represented by Elizabeth V. Heller and Robert Rowland of Goldenberg, Heller, Antognoli and Rowland in Edwardsville. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-1284.

--Rita Lanham-Benson of Tennessee claims her recently deceased husband, S. Dewayne Lanham, developed mesothelioma after his work as a facility manager and home remodeler from 1961 until 1970. Robert Phillips, Perry J. Browder and Rosalind M. Robertson of Simmons, Browder, Gianaris, Angelides and Barnerd in East Alton will be representing her. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-1273.

--Paul and Judith Napierala of Wisconsin claim Paul Napierala developed mesothelioma after his work as an electrician from 1960 until 1999. The Napieralas will be represented by Randy L. Gori and Barry Julian of Gori, Julian and Associates of Edwardsville. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-1280.

--Kathryn Peil of Minnesota claims her recently deceased husband, James R. Peil Sr., developed as a laborer and home remodeler at various locations from 1956 until 1979. Robert Phillips, Perry J. Browder and Rosalind M. Robertson of Simmons, Browder, Gianaris, Angelides and Barnerd in East Alton will be representing her. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-1274.

--Joseph and Joan Schneider of Michigan claim Joseph Schneider developed mesothelioma after his work as a laborer, assembly line worker, owner and operator of a lawnmower and chainsaw service shop and co-owner and co-operator of a residential insulation company at various locations throughout Illinois and Michigan from 1948 until the 1980s. The Schneiders will be represented by Timothy F. Thompson Jr. and Ryan J. Kiwala of Simmons, Browder, Gianaris, Angelides and Barnerd in East Alton. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-1277.

--Lula Shoff of Arizona, a laborer and assembly line worker at various locations from 1954 until 1970, claims lung cancer. Shoff will be represented by Robert Phillips, Perry J. Browder and Rosalind M. Robertson of Simmons, Browder, Gianaris, Angelides and Barnerd in East Alton. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-1272.

--Diane Welstad of Nevada claims her recently deceased father, Robert Wilcoxson, developed mesothelioma after his work as a mechanic, machinist and home remodeler at various locations from 1955 until 1979. Robert Phillips, Perry J. Browder and Rosalind M. Robertson of Simmons, Browder, Gianaris, Angelides and Barnerd in East Alton will be representing her. --Kenneth R. and Rita Wilson of Illinois claim Kenneth R. Wilson developed mesothlioma after his work as a service station worker in 1967, a member of the U.S. Navy from 1968 until 1969 and a general laborer from 1970. The Wilsons will be represented by Richard L. Saville Jr., Ethan A. Flint, Andrew J. Balcer and Jessica L. Benton of Saville and Flint in Alton. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-1276.
