A man has filed suit against the Southern Illinois Specialized Healthcare Associates employee who stuck him while driving in Staunton.
James R. Wockenfuss claims he was driving west on East Fourth Street at its intersection with South Walnut Street on Nov. 13, 2007, at about 10:10 a.m. when defendant Barbara A. Allen, who was driving south on South Walnut Street for Southern Illinois, collided with Wockenfuss' automobile.
Because of the collision, Wockenfuss claims he suffered contusions to his left shoulder, hip, knee and foot and lost consciousness at the scene. In addition, he incurred medical costs, was hindered from attending to his usual duties and lost large sums of money that would have accrued to him, the suit states.
Allen negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, drove her vehicle too fast, failed to yield the right-of-way and drove in excess of the applicable speed limit.
Wockenfuss is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.
She will be represented by Thomas W. Buckart of Buckart Law Offices in Hamel.
