A man is claiming injuries to his shoulder, neck and back after another driver rear-ended him.
James E. Henderson claims he was driving in the 4500 block of North Belt West near its intersection with 45th Street in Belleville on Aug. 25 when Kathryn L. Jeffries, who was driving in the same block, struck the rear of his vehicle.
Because of the accident, Henderson was made sick, sore, lame, disordered and disabled, incurred medical costs and suffered disability, according to the complaint filed Oct. 5 in St. Clair County Circuit Court. In addition, he lost wages and experienced pain and suffering, the suit states.
Jeffries negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, drove in such a way that she rear-ended Henderson's vehicle, failed to properly apply her brakes, drove too fast and failed to yield the right-of-way, the complaint says.
Henderson is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.
Thomas C. Rich and Jennifer L. Barbieri of Fairview Heights will be representing him.
