A Belleville man claims he suffered a loss of income after he says an intoxicated man collided with him.
Michael D. Karwoski filed a complaint Oct. 2 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Jerry L. Ousley and Enterprise Leasing.
Karwoski claims he was driving east on Martin Luther King Bridge in East St. Louis on May 9 when Ousley, who was driving west on the same bridge, collided with him.
At the time of the accident, Ousley was driving a 2009 Nissan Frontier owned by Enterpise Leasing, according to the complaint.
Because of the collision, Karwoski incurred medical costs and suffered a loss of income, pain and a loss of normal life, the suit states.
Karwoski blames Ousley for his injuries, saying Ousley failed to keep a proper lookout, drove too fast, crossed the center line and drove his vehicle while intoxicated, the complaint says.
In the two-count suit, Karwoski is seeking a judgment of more than $100,000, plus costs.
Jon E. Rosenstengel of the Law Offices of Bonifield and Rosenstengel in Belleville will be representing him.
