A woman claims a driver rear-ended her while she was attempting to turn left into her driveway.
Janice A. White filed a lawsuit Sept. 23 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Mark Huegen.
White claims she was driving her 2002 Chevrolet Sebring north on Madison Street in Lebanon and was stopped with her left-turn signal on, attempting to turn into a driveway.
At the same time, Huegen was driving a 1999 Chevrolet pick-up truck north when he struck the rear of White's vehicle, according to the complaint.
Because of the accident, White sustained severe and permanent injuries, suffered pain, incurred medical costs, lost her normal life and lost wages, the suit states.
Huegen negligently drove too close to White's vehicle, failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to keep his vehicle under control, followed White's vehicle too closely, drove too fast for traffic conditions and failed to slow down or swerve to avoid a collision, the complaint says.
White is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.
D. Keith Kessler of Foreman and Kessler in Salem will be representing him.
