A man who says he was injured by a driver who made a right turn in front of his vehicle has filed a lawsuit in Madison County Circuit Court.
Anthony Leone filed a lawsuit Aug. 17 against David J. Hansen.
Leone claims he was driving south on Riggin Road at its intersection with Ohara in Troy on March 14 at about 9:49 a.m. when Hansen, who was driving in the same direction, attempted to make a right turn in front of Leone, causing a collision.
Because of the accident, Leone was made sick, sore, lame, disordered and disabled, suffered extensive injuries to his head, neck, and back and incurred medical costs, according to the complaint. Leone has also suffered disability, experienced pain and suffering, lost wages and will suffer an impairment of future earning capacity, the suit states.
Leone blames Hansen for failing to keep a proper lookout, for striking Leone, for failing to properly apply his brakes, for driving too fast, for failing to give Leone at least one-half of the road and for driving without adequate brakes.
Leone is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.
John H. Hustava of Collinsville will be representing him.
