A man has filed suit against the driver who he says collided with him and caused him to lose income.
Jeffrey Warnke claims he was stopped in a northerly direction on Black Lane at its intersection with Paul Street in Canteen Township on Aug. 7, 2007, at about 6 a.m. when Kelly Halwachs struck his vehicle.
According to the complaint filed Aug. 6 in St. Clair County Circuit Court, Warnke incurred medical expenses and suffered disability, pain and loss of a normal life because of the accident.
Halwachs negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to stop to avoid an impact and failed to reduce her speed, the suit states.
Warnke is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.
He will be represented by Tad Armstrong of Armstrong Law Offices in Edwardsville.
St. Clair County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-414.
