A woman has filed suit against the driver who she says struck her as she was walking across the street.
Marylynn S. Dixon claims she was attempting to cross Illinois Route 159 on foot when William D. Maggart, who was driving north on the road, struck her.
According to the complaint filed July 30 in Madison County Circuit Court, Dixon suffered injuries to her knees, face and eyes, experienced past and future pain, suffering and disability and incurred medical costs.
Maggart negligently failed to reduce his speed to avoid a collision, drove too fast for road conditions and failed to keep a proper lookout for pedestrians, the suit states.
Dixon is seeking an unspecified judgment, plus costs.
Lance R. Mallon of Mallon Law Firm in Wood River will be representing her.
