Two people are blaming two others for injuries they say they sustained in an automobile collision.
Vicky Holt and Hal Brown filed a lawsuit July 9 in Madison County Circuit Court against Amanda S. Carter and Katelyn Lawrence.
Holt and Brown claim they were riding as passengers in a vehicle Lawrence was driving east on East Airline Drive at its intersection with West Rosedale Drive in East Alton on March 26 at about 12:23 a.m.
At the same time, Carter was driving north on West Rosedale Drive when the vehicles collided after Carter failed to stop at the intersection, Holt claims.
Because of the accident, Holt injured her back, left shoulder, neck, right arm and chest, the suit states.
Brown received injuries to his neck and right and left legs, the complaint says.
Both plaintiffs experienced pain, suffering and disability; and incurred medical expenses, all of which will continue in the future, the suit states.
Carter negligently failed to reduce her speed, drove too fast for the conditions, failed to keep a proper lookout and failed to stop at an intersection, the complaint says.
According to the suit, Lawrence failed to reduce her speed to avoid a collision, drove too fast and failed to keep a proper lookout.
In the four-count suit, Holt and Brown are seeking unspecified judgments, plus costs.
Lance R. Mallon and Dawna M. Hale of Mallon Law Firm in Wood River will be representing them.
