A Madison County man says an Edwardsville man caused injuries to his hand, wrist, thumb and back after rear-ending him.
Robert Yannie filed a lawsuit July 8 in Madison County Circuit Court against David Edwards.
Yannie claims he was stopped or slowed in traffic on Jan. 9, 2008, at about 6 p.m. when Edwards, whose vehicle was traveling east on Interstate 270 near its intersection with Route 360, struck the rear of Yannie's automobile.
In addition to his injuries, Yannie experienced pain, suffering and disability, incurred medical and property damage expenses, suffered disability and lost his enjoyment of life, according to the complaint.
Yannie blames Edwards for failing to drive at a safe speed, for failing to avoid placing others in danger, for following another vehicle too closely, for failing to keep a proper lookout, for failing to stop or swerve to avoid a collision and for driving too fast for the traffic conditions.
Yannie is seeking unspecified damages, plus costs and other relief the court deems just.
David M. Damick of the Law Offices of David M. Damick in St. Louis will be representing him.
