A woman is suing the driver of a vehicle that she says overturned while she was riding in it, causing her to sustain injuries to her back, hips, pelvis, arms and legs.
Alyssa Russell filed a lawsuit June 25 in Madison County Circuit Court against Jessica Tippett.
Russell says she was a passenger in a vehicle Tippett was driving east on Ellis Road near its intersection with Acorn Road in St. Jacob on May 10.
Suddenly, Tippett's vehicle skidded on the grass shoulder on the south side of the road, re-entered the road and overturned, according to the complaint.
In addition to her injuries, Russell says she sustained great pain and mental anguish, lost wages and incurred medical costs.
Russell blames Tippett for failing to keep control of her vehicle, failing to keep her vehicle in the proper lane and driving too fast for the road conditions.
Russell is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.
