The mother of a minor child is suing a woman who she says threw a party during which her son was allegedly attacked.
Sandra Cherry filed a lawsuit June 22 in Madison County Circuit Court individually and on behalf of her minor son, Chris Young, against Robyn Hood, Desiree Bradshaw and Isaiah Bradshaw.
Cherry says Hood threw a party at 1403 West Main St. in Collinsville on June 14 where "she provided copious quantities of alcohol."
Several of the people who attended the party were under 18 years old, including Young, Desiree Bradshaw and Isaiah Bradshaw, according to the complaint.
"Due to the copious quantities of alcohol being consumed by persons at the party, disputes began, of which Defendant Hood was personally aware, in which battery was threatened upon Plaintiff," the complaint says.
However, Hood did nothing to provide safety for Young, the suit states.
Later that night, the Bradshaws battered Young, causing him to incur more than $50,000 in medical bills, Cherry says.
In the two-count suit, Cherry is seeking compensatory damages of more than $100,0000, plus costs and other relief the court deems just.
Thomas G. Maag of Wendler Law in Edwardsville will be representing her.
