Four-wheeler owner sued over injuries

The father of a 17-year-old girl is suing an Illinois couple over injuries he says the girl sustained when the couple let his daughter drive a four-wheeler.

Bill Wisely filed suit on behalf of Danielle Wisely on April 8 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Jack and Rita Knau.

He says his daughter was visiting Jack and Rita Knau on April 8, 2007, when they allowed her to drive their four-wheeler.

However, she fell off the four-wheeler and sustained head, neck, back, arm, leg and nerve injuries, the complaint says.

Danielle Wisely also incurred medical bills, experienced pain and suffering, disability, loss of enjoyment of life and a lost wage earning capacity, according to the complaint.

The Knaus negligently allowed Wisely to drive the four-wheeler, failed to provide her with instruction and failed to properly supervise her, Bill Wisely claims.

Wisely is seeking a judgment in excess of $50,000, plus costs and other relief the court deems just.

Michael L. McGlynn of McGlynn and McGlynn in Belleville will be representing him.

St. Clair County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-182.
