Suit seeks $200k in damages in auto accident suit

A family has filed suit against a Madison County man, alleging they were injured and their car received damages of more than $15,000 after he collided with them.

Cynthia D. and Michael W. Gibson filed suit individually and on behalf of minors Jacob Wainwright and Sarah Gibson against Larry M. Wright in Madison County Circuit Court on April 7.

The Gibsons claim their 2006 Nissan was on Wesley near Illinois Route 111 on March 27, 2008, when Wright failed to yield and hit their car.

The accident caused $15,027.37 worth of damage to their vehicle.

Because of the accident, Cynthia Gibson, Michael W. Gibson, Wainwright and Sarah Gibson claim they suffered injuries, incurred medical bills to treat their contusions, lacerations, sprains and strains of their head, neck, back, shoulders, arms and legs and lost income.

In the five-count suit, the Gibsons are seeking compensation for damages to their car, a judgment in excess of $200,000, plus costs and other relief the court deems just.

They are represented by Ronald D. Robinson of Amelung, Wulff, Willenbrock and Pankowski in St. Louis and by Lon D. Weaver of Bathalto.

Madison County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-354.
