A Madison County plaintiff alleges she received neck and back injuries after another driver collided with her.
Valerie A. Garrison was driving north on Briar Cliff Road on Jan. 12 at about 8:59 a.m. and was stopped at its intersection with West Deli when the collision occurred, according to the complaint filed March 30.
At the same time, Kelly L. Keenan was driving west on West Deli and trying to make a left turn onto Briar Cliff Road when she collided with Garrison's vehicle, the suit states.
Because of the collision, in addition to her injuries, Garrison experienced pain, suffering and disability, incurred substantial medical costs, lost wages and incurred property damage of $1,700, she claims.
Keenan was negligent by failing to reduce her speed to avoid a collision, by driving at an unreasonable speed, by failing to keep a proper lookout, by failing to yield the right-of-way and by failing to make a proper left-hand turn, according to the complaint.
In the two-count suit, Garrison is seeking an unspecified judgment, plus costs.
She is represented by Lance R. Mallon and Dawna M. Hale of Mallon Law Firm in Wood River.
