A Glen Carbon man has filed suit alleging he was injured in an auto accident.
Mark L. Johnson was driving a 1998 Chevrolet Prizm east on Glen Carbon Road near its intersection with Mark Trail Drive in Glen Carbon on Nov. 18 when Larry D. Nelson, who was backing a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck from his driveway onto Glen Carbon Road, hit Johnson, according to the complaint filed March 26 in Madison County Circuit Court.
Johnson and Nelson are both from Glen Carbon, the complaint states.
Because of the incident, Johnson suffered severe injuries, experienced pain and suffering, incurred medical costs and lost wages and his enjoyment of a normal life, the suit states.
He also claims he experienced a diminished earning capacity and disability.
Nelson was negligent by failing to keep a proper lookout, by failing to keep his vehicle under control and by failing to yield for oncoming traffic.
Johnson is seeking a judgment in excess of $50,000, plus costs and other relief the court deems just.
