Injuries claimed in rear-end accident

A woman alleges she received neck, back and head injuries after a rear-end collision, according to a suit filed in Madison County Circuit Court on March 23.

Denise M. Setar was driving north on Beech Street at its intersection with Monroe Street in Highland on Oct. 31 when Jean M. Lemp, who was driving in the same direction, failed to stop for traffic and rear-ended Setar, the complaint states.

In addition to her injuries, Setar was made sick, sore, lame, disordered and disabled, incurred medical expenses and suffered disability, the suit states.

Setar also says she experienced pain and suffering and lost money from lost wages.

Lemp negligently failed to keep a lookout for other cars on the road, drove in such a way that she struck the back of Setar's vehicle, failed to properly apply her brakes and drove too fast for road conditions, according to the complaint.

Setar is seeking a judgment in excess of $50,000, plus costs.

She is represented by Thomas C. Rich and Jennifer L. Barbieri of Fairview Heights.

Madison County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-0289.
