A St. Clair County woman has filed suit against a Cook County driver, alleging she was seriously injured after the man hit the vehicle in which she was riding.
Colleen M. Mory was a passenger in a vehicle traveling on LaGrange Road in Cook County on April 20, 2007, when Jeffrey P. Sabia, who was driving on the same road, rear-ended the vehicle in which Mory was riding, according to the complaint filed March 17 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.
Because of the collision, Mory was made sick, sore, lame, disordered and disabled, received injuries to her neck, shoulder, mid-back and low back and received injuries to the soft tissues of her cervical, shoulder, thoracic and lumbar area, the suit states.
She also claims she incurred medical costs, suffered disability, experienced pain and suffering and lost money.
Sabia was negligent by failing to keep a proper lookout for other vehicles, by driving in such a way that he struck Mory's vehicle, by failing to properly apply the brakes of his vehicle, by driving too fast for the traffic and by failing to stop or swerve to avoid a collision, according to the complaint.
Mory is seeking a judgment in excess of $50,000, plus costs.
She is represented by Michael P. Murphy of Freeark, Harvey, Mendillo, Dennis, Wuller, Cain and Murphy in Belleville.
