Edwardsville accident with injuries is subject of suit

Emily and Alan Razeghi filed a suit against Jessica Millman in Madison County Circuit Court over an alleged collision in which they claim they were injured.

In a suit filed March 17, they claim Emily Razeghi was driving west on Center Grover Road with Alan Razeghi as her passenger on April 15.

As the Razeghis were proceeding through the road's intersection with Plum Street in Edwardsville, Millman, who was driving north on Plum Street, failed to stop for a red light and collided with the front-left bumper of the Razeghis' vehicle, the complaint says.

Because of the accident, the Razeghis suffered severe and permanent injuries, endured a great deal of pain and emotional suffering, incurred medical expenses and experienced a loss of normal life, they claim.

They also lost wages, according to the complaint.

In addition to running the red light, Millman failed to keep her vehicle under control, entered an intersection before knowing whether it was safe to do so, failed to decrease her speed to avoid a collision and failed to keep a proper lookout for other vehicles, the suit states.

In the two-count suit, the Razeghis are seeking a judgment in excess of $100,000, plus costs.

Jason R. Caraway of Kirkpatrick Law Offices in Belleville will be representing them.

Madison County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-0267.
