A total of 27 new asbestos suits were filed in Madison County Circuit Court during the week of March 2 through March 6.

--John Bunting of Illinois claims mesothelioma on behalf of his recently deceased father, Robert Bunting, who worked from 1946 until 1981 as a street car conductor, cable splicer and supply room clerk at various locations throughout Illinois and Indiana. --Frank Carrier of Indiana claims mesothelioma on behalf of his recently deceased wife, Nancy Carrier, who worked from 1963 until 1993 as a production worker at various locations through Illinois, Indiana and Missouri. --Charles R. Chew Jr. and Frances Chew of New York claim Charles R. Chew Jr. developed mesothelioma after his work as a laborer and boiler worker at Beaunit Mills from 1949 until 1950 and from 1954 until 1955. Charles R. Chew Jr. also worked from 1950 until 1954 as a laborer in the U.S. Navy, from 1955 until 1958 as a night watchman at Congoleum and from 1958 until 1959 as a laborer at a car battery factory, according to the complaint. --Thomas Clark of Illinois claims mesothelioma on behalf of his recently deceased father, Frank J. Clark, who worked from 1948 until 1968 as an electrician for the U.S. Navy. --Lucy G. Fabrizius of Kansas claims mesothelioma on behalf of her recently deceased husband, Kenneth G. Fabrizius, who worked as a grinder and welder at Detroiter Mobile Homes in Hutch, Kansas, from 1968 until 1969 and at Excel Cab. Company at Hesston, Kansas from 1969 until 1970. Kenneth G. Fabrizius also worked as a farmer and cattler on his farm in Wakeeney, Kansas, from 1970 until 2007 and as a laborer at a wheelchair factory in Ellis, Kansas, from 1995 until 2007, according to the complaint.
