An accident on Frank Scott Parkway has resulted in a suit by a man claiming neck and back injuries after a rear-end collision.
George M. Vollmer was driving south on Frank Scott Parkway near its intersection with Dutch Hollow Road in Belleville on Jan. 30 when Daniel F. Krack, who was driving behind Vollmer, struck the rear of Vollmer's vehicle, according to the complaint filed March 10 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.
The impact caused Vollmer to hit the rear of the vehicle in front of him, the suit states.
Because of the collision, Vollmer claims he was made sick, sore, lame, disordered and disabled and received injuries to the soft tissues of his cervical, shoulder and lumbar areas.
He also incurred medical costs, suffered disability, experienced pain and suffering and lost money from a loss of wages, according to the complaint.
Krack was negligent by failing to keep a proper lookout, by driving in such a manner that he struck the rear of Volmer's vehicle, by failing to properly apply the brakes of his vehicle and by driving at an excessive rate of speed, the suit states.
Vollmer is seeking a judgment in excess of $50,000, plus costs.
He is represented by Thomas C. Rich and Jennifer L. Barbieri of Fairview Heights.
