A woman has filed suit over injuries she sustained in a collision on North Greenmount Road in 2007.
Sarah Owen claims she was driving a 2006 Saturn Ion south on North Greenmount Road in St. Clair on April 5, 2007, when Markus Moore, who was driving a 1999 Plymouth Expresso north on North Greenmount Road, attempted a U-turn and struck her, according to the complaint filed Feb. 26 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.
Because of the accident, Owen's various muscles, ligaments, membranes, nerves, blood vessels and tissues were sprained, torn, cut or bruised, the suit states.
She also claims she became sick, sore, lame and disordered, suffered great pain and anguish, suffered injuries to her neck, back, left shoulder, left shoulder blade, left arm and suffers from headaches.
In addition, Owen incurred medical expenses, suffered internal derangement and has been prevented from participating in many of her usual daily activities, according to the complaint.
Moore was negligent by failing to keep his vehicle under proper control, by failing to see Owen, by failing to obey all traffic control devices, by failing to make a U-turn when it was safe and by failing to turn his vehicle to proceed in the opposite direction when it was safe, the suit states.
Owen is seeking a judgment in excess of $50,000, plus costs and other relief the court deems just.
She is represented by Richard G. Reed of Reed and Bruhn in Belleville.
