An Illinois woman has filed suit against an Illinois man, alleging she was injured after a collision.
Sonji R. Palmer was driving west on Illinois Route 140 and was approaching its intersection with East Prairietown Road on Feb. 2, 2007, when the incident occurred, according to the complaint filed Jan. 23 in Madison County Circuit Court.
As Palmer was slowing down for a slower moving vehicle in front of her, Justin E. Pfeiffer, who was driving behind Palmer, struck the rear of her car, the suit states.
Because of the accident, Palmer claims she suffered permanent, progressive and disabling injuries to her neck, lower back, left hand and left arm and incurred medical expenses.
She also lost wages and experienced an impaired ability to work, labor and enjoy life, according to the complaint.
Pfeiffer was negligent by driving too fast, by following Palmer's vehicle too closely, by failing to keep a proper lookout, by running into the rear of Palmer's vehicle and by failing to stop, swerve or slow down to avoid an accident, the suit states.
Palmer is seeking a judgment in excess of $50,000, plus other relief the court deems just.
She is represented by William K. Holland of Fox, Goldblatt and Singer in St. Louis.
