Elizabeth Levy elected associate judge in Third Circuit

Levy

Edwardsville family law attorney Elizabeth Levy has been elected associate judge by the circuit judges of the Third Judicial Circuit.

Levy, who will be sworn in March 2, fills the vacancy of former Associate Judge Richard Tognarelli, who was elected to a six-year term as circuit judge in November.

Levy, 60, said she has long aspired to become a judge, and that it was the "next logical" step in her career.

She said she believes she would be well-suited to serve in the court's family division.

Levy received her undergraduate degree in 1969 from Hunter College in New York and her juris doctor in 1974 from Washington University in St. Louis.

She has been affiliated with the law firm Levy and Stipes, P.C.

A resident of Collinsville, she is married to attorney Mark Levy. They have two grown children.
