A man who was struck by an allegedly intoxicated man while walking down a sidewalk has filed suit.
Nathan J. Porter was walking on a sidewalk along West Third Street in Alton when Kaleb D. Ball struck him on June 8, according to the complaint filed Jan. 13 in Madison County Circuit Court.
Ball, who was allegedly intoxicated at the time of the incident, had purchased alcohol from Tony Lounge, the suit states.
Because of the incident, Porter claims he sustained serious, permanent and disabling injuries, suffered pain and incurred medical expenses.
In the five-count suit, Porter is seeking a judgment in excess of $250,000, plus costs.
