Debora Woods has filed suit against Mary Branch, alleging she was injured after a collision.
Woods was driving north on Illinois 157 at its intersection with Illinois 163 in Centreville on Oct. 30 when Branch, who was driving west at the same intersection, struck the side of Woods's vehicle, according to the complaint filed Jan. 5 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.
Because of the accident, Woods was made sick, sore, lame disordered and disabled and received injuries to her neck, shoulder and low back, the suit states.
She also claims she incurred medical expenses, suffered disability, experienced pain and suffering and lost money from lost wages.
Branch was negligent by failing to keep a proper lookout, by driving in a manner so that she struck the side of Woods's vehicle, by failing to properly apply her brakes and by failing to stop at a stop sign and to yield the right-of-way, according to the complaint.
Woods is seeking a judgment in excess of $50,000, plus costs.
Thomas C. Rich and Jennifer L. Barbieri of Fairview Heights will be representing her.
