Katie M. Venvertloh has filed suit against Eric S. Evans, alleging she was injured after he collided with her.
Venvertloh was driving her 2004 Ford on Troy Road near Lavelle on Jan. 5, 2007, when the accident occurred, according to the complaint filed Dec. 31 in Madison County Circuit Court.
Because of the accident, Venvertloh has suffered personal injuries to her head, neck, back, shoulders, arms and legs and has incurred medical bills in excess of $50,000, the suit states.
She also claims she lost income and experienced pain and suffering.
Evans was negligent because he failed to yield, failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to reduce his speed to avoid a collision, used the improper lane and failed to obey a traffic signal, according to the complaint.
Venvertloh is seeking a judgment in excess of $50,000, plus costs and other relief the court deems just.
Ronald D. Robinson of Amelung, Wulff, Willenbrock and Pankowski in St. Louis and Steven N. Mottaz of Thomas, Mottaz and Eastman in Alton will be representing her.
