A Belleville woman has filed suit against a Belleville man and a Centreville man, alleging she was injured in a multi-vehicle collision.
Marilyn K. Strain was driving her 2003 Honda south on Frank Scott Parkway near its intersection with North 57th Street in Belleville when Brian C. Watson, who was driving his Subaru Forester, drove into the back of Julian L. Mosley's car, according to the complaint filed Dec. 22 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.
Mosley then drove her vehicle across the center-line of the road and collided head-on with Strain, the suit states.
Because of the accident, Strain sustained severe and permanent injuries to her chest, shoulder, hips, foot and knee, incurred medical expenses, lost income, became disabled, experienced extreme pain and suffering and lost her quality of life, she claims.
Watson was negligent by failing to observe Mosley's vehicle before colliding with it, by following Mosley's vehicle too closely, by failing to keep his vehicle under control and by driving too fast, according to the complaint.
Mosley negligently failed to observe Strain's vehicle before hitting it, failed to keep his vehicle under control, drove too fast and failed to stop before colliding with Strain, the suit states.
In the two-count suit, Strain is seeking a judgment in excess of $100,000, plus costs.
She is represented by Rhonda D. Fiss of Belleville.
