Seven new asbestos cases filed Dec. 8-12

A total of seven new asbestos lawsuits were filed in Madison County during the week of Dec. 8 through Dec. 12.

The following claims were filed:

--K.P. and Yvonne Adams of Illinois claim lung cancer. K.P. worked as a laborer from the 1960s until 2007, according to the complaint. He is represented by Randy L. Gori and Barry Julian of Gori, Julian and Associates in Alton. Case number: 08-L-1149.

--Glenn O. Creyts of Texas, a quality control worker, brick layer, press and machine operator, residential construction worker and shadetree mechanic from 1955 until 1976, claims mesothelioma. He is represented by Randy L. Gori of Gori, Julian and Associates in Alton and W. Mark Lanier, Patrick N. Haines, R. Craig Bullock, J. Kyle Beale and Sara A. Morton of The Lanier Law Firm in Houston served of counsel. Case number: 08-L-1158.

--Billy Hicks of Pennsylvania claims mesothelioma on behalf of his recently deceased brother, Thomas Hicks. Thomas worked from 1960 until 1992 as a painter, laborer and flagman at various locations throughout Illinois and Missouri, according to the complaint. Billy is represented by Nicholas J. Angelides of SimmonsCooper in East Alton. Case number: 08-L-1164.

--Nora Ruth McMillen of Colorado claims mesothelioma on behalf of her recently deceased husband, Edward L. McMillen. Edward worked from 1943 until 1987 as a filling station worker, a Sergeant for the U.S. Army, with the Navy-CB's rebuilding a base in the Aleutian Islands and as a steamfitter, according to the complaint. Nora is represented by Randy L. Gori of Gori, Julian and Associates in Alton and W. Mark Lanier, Patrick N. Haines, Angela B. Greenberg, Sam T. Richard, Lincoln H. --Peter Mitchell of South Carolina claims mesothelioma on behalf of his recently deceased father, Vincent Mitchell. Vincent worked from 1941 until 1978 as an officer and captain at various locations throughout the United States, including Illinois, according to the complaint. Peter is represented by John A. Barnerd and Randy S. Cohn of SimmonsCooper in East Alton. Case number: 08-L-1154.

--Carole Harrison Moss of Mississippi claims mesothelioma on behalf of her deceased father, James T. Harrison. Harrison worked as a shipping and receiving clerk, mechanic, carpenter and home builder, a dump truck operator, owned a local service station, worked at a foundry, worked making asbestos wallboard for Navy and commercial ships, worked building, repairing and tearing down houses and carpentry work and poured concrete carpentry and general handyman duties from 1946 until 1988.
